Instructor Spotlight: Brian Saranec

Sharing the Joy of Learning Music

Meet Brian Saranec, one of Guitar Ninjas' versatile instructors, teaching guitar, bass, drums, piano, and ukulele.

Brian has been playing music since he was 10 years old, and some of his earliest memories are of looking forward to his weekly lessons. The excitement before each lesson, the encouragement from his teacher, and the sense of accomplishment afterward made music the highlight of his week.

Those experiences inspired Brian to become a teacher himself.

"I wanted to help others develop new skills the same way my teacher helped me," he says. "It opened all the doors to becoming a better player, and I wanted to help others achieve it just like I did."

For Brian, one of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching students grow in both confidence and ability. Whether they're learning their first chords or mastering more advanced techniques, he enjoys helping students discover what's possible through consistent practice and encouragement.

Brian's biggest musical influences include legendary guitarist Allan Holdsworth and singer-songwriter Bob Mould, whose creativity and musicianship continue to inspire his own playing.

When asked what advice he'd give new music students, Brian kept it simple:

"Don't ever give up. Breaks are necessary, but never stop playing and don't get discouraged."

And if he could jam with any band?

Without hesitation: Phish.

Brian's passion for teaching comes from remembering what it felt like to be inspired as a young student. Today, he's proud to pass that same excitement on to the next generation of musicians, helping each student build the skills and confidence to enjoy music for years to come
